About the Founder
Courtney began her insurance career in 1999 as a Receptionist with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, specializing in Life, Disability and Retirement products. At the firm, she eventually became an Associate Agent and the Health Insurance Broker for the office/clients. This is where she learned the consultative approach - a personal planning method to address client needs.
In 2006, she became a Non-Owner Agent with State Farm where she handled her own book of business. Products she specialized in were Property and Casualty, both Personal and Commercial lines, as well as Life, Disability and Retirement products. She truly enjoyed the Property and Casualty side of the industry, learning as much as she could from this great source before moving on again.
Before starting LUCENT, she was a broker for over 5 years with McGriff Insurance Services, formerly the offices of Stevens Hale and Associates. She went into the brokerage industry to gain knowledge in the hopes of one day starting her own firm. With her experiences, she gained more knowledge than she could have imagined. The brokerage realm is the most exciting and challenging - and she would not have it any other way; Hence came LUCENT.
